Alaska has beautiful mesmerizing landscapes but without action they tend to be boring. Scot Walker used real events as inspiration and wrote story based on them. He also directed Frozen Ground. Frozen Ground is almost two hours long biography with gruesome crime. Story is spiced up with history and lot of authenticity. The brightest star on this set is John Cusack. He does great job acting Robert Hansen who is psychotic serial killer. John convinced audience that Robert Hansen is the killer. On the opposite side of the law we have Alaskan State Trooper Jack Halcombe. Nicolas Cage is acting Jack Halcombe. It turned out that this was surprise. Nicolas didn’t have role of wild crazy man. Jack Halcombe is calm man who thinks before he jumps. From the start we see that Robert Hansen is sadistic demented serial killer who lures women by offering good money for photo shoots. He enjoys torturing and raping them in their last hours. Frozen Ground has its weight because is based on true events that are not easy on emotions. Plot starts to get interesting when body of young women is found in Alaskan wild. Body was dug up by bear and State Trooper Jack Halcombe is called to investigate crime. Skillful Jack easily finds that there were many missing women around Anchorage. He discovers that they all have something in common. Halcombe finds young prostitute Cindy Paulson , played by Vanessa Hudgens, as a possible lead. She survived kidnapping and rape but refuses to go to witness protection. Jack has to keep her alive and to make local police do their work. Frozen Ground is long dynamic movie that will give you chills because you know it is based on true story.
