Released in 2004, “The Incredibles” was the sixth feature length animated movie made by the Pixar studio, and one of its most successful ones. Becoming a box office smash hit and drawing universal praise from the critics, the animated film was written and directed by Brad Bird. It won an Oscar for the best animated movie, and received a nomination for the best original screenplay. It tells the story of the Incredibles, a family of five, with each of the members having their own unique super powers. Some time in the past, “Supers” - humans with super powers – were forced into civilian relocation due to some unfortunate mishaps in their crime fighting activities. Bob and Helen Parr are a married couple with three kids, living in a suburban home with bob working a white collar job and Helen acting as a stay at home mom. Bob used to be Mr. Incredible, a super with incredible strength, and Helen was Elastigirl, possessing the ability to stretch her limbs like rubber. Their three kids also have super powers: Violet can become invisible and create a protective force field around her, Dash is super fast, and baby Jack-Jack has a wide variety of abilities, although his parents don't know it yet. Bob is bored with his suburban life and desperate to be Mr. Incredible again, and, when an opportunity presents itself he doesn't hesitate. His actions will put his entire family at risk, as he goes up against an evil scientist who calls himself Syndrome.
