This is a sparkling adventure animated movie, the charms of which will make you watch it till the end. Hugh Grant has got his first animated role as a Pirate Captain – the owner of the luxurious beard, a pirate enthusiast, less then successful, fear of the High Seas. Together with his ragtag and bobtail crew, and seemingly not noticing all the strangeness, happening against him, the Captain cherishes one dream: to win the pirates contest and get ‘Pirate of the Year Award’, defeating his rivals Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek) and Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven). This quest brings the heroes from the exotic Blood Island to the London of Victorian times with its foggy grey streets. During their adventure, the Captain and his gang will need to struggle with Queen Victoria (Imelda Staunton – a zealous pirate hating fighter, and team up with Charles Darwin (David Tennant) in his early adulthood, but never forget to get pleasure from pirates’ most favorite occupation: adventure!
