The legend of the Scorpion King is as old as time, but everyone knows it. Still, not everyone knows how it all begun. This movie tells the story about young Mathayus and his journey to what he had become. The story comes from the minds of Jonathan Hales and his friend Stephen Sommers, only to be put into real movie by skilled director Chuck Russell. In the time when evil king Memnon (Steven Brand) has ruled the lands, there seems to be no one brave enough to stand up to him and end his tyranny. But, it's only what it seems like. There is one man who is skilled enough to do that, last one of his kind, of the Scorpions- the deadliest assassins, Mathayus (Dwayne Johnson). With the help of a young and powerful sorceress (Kelly Hu), Memnon has always been able to predict the moves of his enemies and defeat them even before they start planning anything. Somehow, Mathayus manages to kidnap her from the temple and take her to the tribal leader Balthazar, talking the men into standing by his side while he stands up to Memnon and tries to take him down. At first, the Sorceress is more than eager to get back to her king, but after some time, she starts realizing what these men are trying to do and is willing to help them in their cause.
