More or less, we all have our day- dreaming moments, but the main character of this movie has a lot of them. A really, really lot of them. He has an average life, until he decides to run from reality into his fantasy world and starts an adventurous journey he always wanted to have.
One day, James Thurber wrote a short story "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty", back in 1939 and many years later, it inspired Ben Stiller to direct a movie with help of his co- worker and a writer, Steve Conrad. That way, the story of one unusual, yet not always appreciated type of personality got it's new looks in a form of a movie. Not only that Ben Stiller was inspired to make a movie, he was inspired to give his personal touch to the character and looks of Walter Mitty by taking that role for himself. That way he managed to get into the essence of it and all he needed was a concept of a regular shopping with his wife, to trigger his ideas and to start the real action in his fantasy world.
Imagine a spicy mix of drama, fantasy, action and comedy and you can have at least the slight impression about the movie. Does it take a lot for you to get into your fantasy world, or it's not even something you are thinking about? Do you have a secret life, like Walter Mitty? In his daydreaming moments, he can be whatever he wants...
