After a couple of written and directed movies, Dito Montiel decided to make one all alone. The Son of No One is his début as a producer. This movie is written, directed and produced by Dito alone. Estimated budget is around fifteen million dollars, which gives to this movie serious potential. This budget is far from Hollywood blockbusters, but it is very high ranked for an independent movie. With Ray Lolita and Al Pacino acting important but not main characters, Dito left open space for other actor to show what he knows. Dito choose Channing Tatum to play leading role. He plays Jonathan ‘Milk’ White. Jonathan is rookie cop, who is assigned to protect district where he grew up. This neighbourhood is place where working class lives. This makes it perfect place for small crimes that stay unsolved. Fifteen years ago in this same hood happened something that is far from a small crime. Two unsolved murders waited little bit more than fifteen years to start haunting guilty ones. Jonathan has his secrets that can cause lot of trouble for his superiors and it can tear his family apart. There are some things missing in the story, and things that are not inconsistent. This is reflection of Dito Montiel’s inexperience. Because of that movie is only good but not great.
