If you ever travelled with a plane to another country, then you already know the procedure of landing and getting through the airport security as well as everything that goes along in these situations. This everyday situation was used by Sacha Gervasi and Andrew Niccol to write an amazing story about a man that gets stuck in a pretty unusual situation. The movie was directed by Steven Spielberg. Main character in this story is a man from Eastern Europe, Viktor Navorski (Tom Hanks). After leaving the plane and getting through the airport gates at JFK airport, he gets denied entrance in the country. Why? Because in the meantime his country was declared as non-existing by the USA government. So, now, he can not enter the country and he is stuck on the airport. His passport is also expired, due to the non-existent country and he can not go back either. And just when you think that is the biggest complication, they add the fact that Victor doesn't speak English. At least not good enough. Throughout the movie we see Victor trying to adapt to the newly occurred situation and that makes the guy who put him there really irritated, because he is trying his best to make Victor's life a living hell, so he could go out of the airport. But, Victor is stuck there and he isn't leaving.
