The Two Faces of January is a thriller movie focused on a con artist, his wife and a stranger who flees Athens after one of them gets caught up in the death of a private detective. Charismatic Chester MacFarland, played by Vigo Mortensen, arrives in Athens with his younger wife Colette, played by Kirsten Dunst. They meet up with a tourist guide working at the Acropolis who immediately feels drawn in by Chester's sophistication and wealth and his wife's beauty, but all is not as it seems to be, as Rydal, the tour guide, will soon find out. Chester calls Rydal to his hotel room to help him move a body of what seems to be an unconscious man. Chester claims that he was attacked and Rydal reluctantly agrees on helping him out which pulls him into a sinister world of intrigue. This movie is a must watch for anyone who enjoyed any movie about con artists, it is also well fit for those who enjoy watching thrillers. Vigo Mortensen does an amazing job and it is always a pleasure to see him act, the same can be said for the rest of the cast who obviously gave their best in bringing the world of scams and intrigue closer to the viewer. If you have enjoyed the other Vigo's roles and you are a fan of suspense, you can't go wrong with The Two Faces of January.
