Have you ever wondered how all those weddings turn out just perfect? Like they came out of the fairy tale? That is because the couple had a great wedding planner hired. In this case, one of the best wedding planners in the whole San Francisco is Mary Fiore (Jennifer Lopez). She knows all the tricks and she has not one but more than one ace up her sleeve. From the arrangements for the complete looks for the wedding reception, over to having everything delivered and done in time, up to whispering the whole speech to both groom and the best man over the microphone in their ears. It is her duty to have everything done just as she imagined it and she is paid for that. After getting her shoe stuck in the middle of the street, not wanting to let it go, she gets into an accident that puts her into hospital. That makes her even more under pressure to finish everything she had missed while being in there. And the guy that saved her? She doesn't have the time for him, but fate is yet to play the part in their lives. After seeing him a couple more times, she starts falling for him, not realizing that he is the groom on the wedding she is working on. So, what does the planner do in such cases? She has a choice to either help him, or tell him how she feels.
