What is the movie There's Something About Mary about?
No one likes remembering their dumb situations from the high school time. We were all kids and nerds and did a lot of very embarrassing things. So, that is how we get to meet Ted (Ben Stiller). He is a typical dorky shy guy from the local high school with braces. And he was in love with one of the hottest girls from the school- Mary (Cameron Diaz). As he was to ask her to go to the prom with him, it turned out that she wanted to go with him as well. As the night of the prom date came, Ted got into a very unusual accident, and the date never happened. He ended up in a hospital that night. Years went by and as he finally managed to make a life for himself and somehow forget about his teenage years and that high school, he started thinking of Mary again. So, as the old flame sparks again, he realizes that he is still in love with her and needs to get back into her life. He even hired a private investigator to find her, but that guy fell for Mary as well, and decided to mislead Ted from Mary in order to try and have a shot with her. Soon, Ted finds his way to Mary and is more than eager to get back into her life as her partner. Throughout the whole movie he gets from one hilarious scene into another.
