Experienced filmmaker Terrence Malick wrote a love story spiced with intense emotions. He used the story and directed almost two hour long drama about a romance. “To the Wonder” is a great movie that gives insights in evolution of love between lovers from different continents. Ben Affleck is in the role of American tourist Neil who travels across the Europe. While travelling, he meets divorced Ukrainian woman Marina (Olga Kurylenko) who is living with her ten year old daughter Tatiana. They go together to Mont St. Michael and they have romance that looks like fairytale. After this lifetime romance, Neil went home and Marina relocated with him to Oklahoma. After a while this raw romance started to cool down. As Neil started to work as an environmental inspector, Marina found herself alone. Company of Catholic priest Father Quintana (Javier Bardem ) gives her solace. Father Quintana is having serious crisis and he questions his faith a lot. This situation causes Neil to doubt a lot. Doubt and pressure from the work will push him apart from Marina. After Marina goes back to France with Tatiana because of expired visa, Neil will reconnect with old love Jane (Rachel McAdams). Lost between two women, Neil will have to confront with his own emotions, sense of guilt, betrayal and disappointment. Movie To the Wonder focuses on powerful emotions that push us and keep us going even when we are not certain of the outcome. Trust, faith, love and hope are the main characters of the movie. Background music managed to harmonize with the story which produces strong effect.
