What goes on in South-east Asia is even today a mystery. This is just one of the stories what can bee found there. The main character is Alex, who is an investigator and he is into human trafficking cases. He lures one of the traffickers into thinking that he is looking for a very very forbidden service and that is- getting pleasured by a pretty young Asian teenage girl. He enters the filthy back room where there is only the bed with sheets and no one is there.. or so it seems. A young Asian girl is waiting on the next man outside. But, that is all a disguise to get them in action, and after that they are arrested. Alex's wife Claire (Mira Sorvino) is one who is in charge of taking care after girls like these are rescued. She is a volunteer in one of the shelters and she does her job the best she can in those conditions, where even the neighbourhood is a potential danger to these teens. Because of the main plot of this movie it isn't hard to see why it got its title Trade of Innocents. It is bitter truth that is really happening in the real world and it will leave a big impression on you, which will keep on holding on to you long after the movie is over.
