Fight between vampires and werewolves lasts for hundreds of centuries. Although Lycans are descendants of werewolves, Vampires see no reason not to kill them as well. After all, they do have basically the same blood. The story begins as a young female vampire Selene (Kate Beckinsale) hunts down the Lycans and kills them. She is a so called "death dealer" and is in charged of killing every and each one of the Lycans, which comes on their territory. During one of her killing actions, she comes across a young man called Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman), who seems to have gotten their attention. She captures him and brings him to their coven. Soon after she discovers that he was one of the descendants of Lycans. Somewhere along the way, he was bitten by a vampire, which starts creating a unique mix in his blood- half Lycan, half Vampire. And Selene finds herself slowly falling in love with him as they both get through various adventures. To get a better advice as well as some protection from some of the vampires in her cover, Selene awakes their vampire king Viktor (Bill Nighy), one of the rulers. But, as she starts finding out the truth about how he came to save her in the first place, she may regret waking him up in the end.
