What is the movie Wake Wood about?
If you loved watching movies like "Pet Cemetery", or "The Omen", as well as "The Village of the Damned", you'll like what comes next. Wake Woods was both written as a novel and as a screenplay by Brendan McCarthy and directed by David Keating. The plot of this horror movie is revolving around a young couple Patrick (Aidan Gillen) and Louise (Eva Birthistle) and their daughter Alice (Ella Connolly). As Alice goes to school one morning and decides to stop by her dad, who is working as a vet, she gets attacked by a vicious dog. Next thing these two young parents know, is that she's gone. Unable to go through with all of pain that is waiting for them, Patrick and Louise get distanced from each other. Soon, they decide to move to a quiet little place called Wakewood. Their lives seem like to be getting back to normal, with working as a vet again and Louise having her own drug store, but the pain of losing their little girl is just unbearable. Wanting to get away again, their car breaks down and they stumble upon a strange pagan ritual. So, Arthur (Timothy Spall) agrees on doing the ritual and bringing their girl back from the dead, but they must obey some rules that go with this ritual. Since, all they want is their girl back, Patrick and Louise agree on everything, but don't mind that too much. And that's where the horror really beings.
