The story revolves around young teenage girl from America, Daphne Reynolds (Amanda Bynes). She is 17 years old and she lives in New York with her single mom, Libby Reynolds (Kelly Preston). After her lead gets her to England, to London, she tracks her dad down and finds out the most incredible thing- he is a wealthy British politician, Henry Dashwood (Colin Firth) and he has absolutely no idea that he has a daughter. As the two of them get to know each other, they find out lots of things about each other and get along pretty well. But, with her uncontrolled behaviour and her wild nature, she gets the attention of lots of newspaper, which might lead to her father losing his position due to her stupidities. Now, she must learn to behave and fit into this totally new society in order to help her father and his career.
