Zulu is a crime drama starring Orlando Bloom, Forest Whitaker and Tanya van Graan. It is a story of Ali Neuman who, as a child, narrowly escaped being murdered by Inkhata, a militant political party who was at war with Nelson Mandela's African National Congress. Only his mother and himself survived those years, but as it goes with many survivors, the mental scars remain. In the present day Ali is chief of the homicide branch of the South African police in Cape Town. One of the people working for him is Brian Epkeen who is white officer whose family was involved in the establishment of the apartheid. Together they deal with the crime, violent local gangs and gangs from the other parts of Africa. Corpses of two women are found, new evil comes to the city and a new drug is introduced to its inhabitants. Both Bloom and Whitaker did an amazing jobs in playing their roles, they bring their characters to life in an interesting and amusing way. The movie can be pretty depressing, but the ride is worth the wait because the ending will give you relief. If this movie sounds like something that you might find interesting, then by all means, give it a go, you are bound to enjoy everything it brings.
